Misty McBrierty epitomizes integrity, honesty, passion, hard work, creative, and innovative solutions for your organizations training, coaching, leadership, and visionary needs. Misty grew up in northern Maine on the shores of Moosehead Lake starting at an early age working with young and adult learners teaching swimming lessons and lifeguarding. Her earliest memories are that of wanting to help people learn and grow into their best selves.
Her education and experience has been in the education field as a teacher, building leader, district director of curriculum and instruction, and adjunct professor of educational leadership. Her doctoral work was in the area of transformative leadership specifically focused on the technologies to support personalized/customized, competency-based education. Her passion continues to lead her to learn and support organizations in building structural systems to support learners of all ages, enabling them to thrive in their work and personal lives.
Misty is devoted to her family, furry friends, and her spiritual being. She enjoys the outdoors and spends as much time as possible in the Moosehead Lake area relaxing and participating in many outdoor adventures in all seasons. Though a continuous work in progress finding the work life balance is an important goal of hers.
Misty has been inspired by many great social scientists, psychologists, and educational researchers that informed her practices and made her the person she is today as a consultant, educator, trainer, researcher, and writer. She has worked with many exceptional people over the last 23+ years as an educator. These experiences have fueled the passion of creating the conditions for people to find the joy in working toward their best selves every day.
Building relationships with people is the key to a successful coach and consultant. Misty works hard to seek to understand the needs of those she serves, address problems, create engaging learning experiences, build trust, create, innovate, and above all else have fun doing it.
Her specialties include culture building, leadership, teaching and learning (training), instruction/curriculum design, and teaming. You can count on Misty to support your organization in becoming a customized, people centered culture that promotes strengths, not deficits, and facilitates gaining the wisdom of the group to meet the needs of all who learn, lead, and live in the organization.
